Registering to Vote

To register in Ohio you must:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Be a resident of Ohio.
Be 18 years old on or before Election Day. If you will be 18 on or before the day of the general election, you may vote in the primary election for candidates only.
Not be convicted of a felony and currently incarcerated.
Not be found incompetent by a court for purposes of voting.

Absentee Voting Information

Any registered voter in Ohio can request an Absentee Ballot. Request forms are available the Hamilton County Board of Elections web site, or voters can request a ballot in writing and mail or fax it to:

A written request must include:

Name,
Address,
Date of Birth,
Phone number,
Date of the election,
Statement that you are a qualified voter,
Signature,
If the elector desires ballots to be mailed to the elector, the address to which those ballots shall be mailed.
If the request is for primary election ballots, the elector's party affiliation;
And one of the following:

Driver's license number,
Last four digits of your social security number,
A copy of a valid ID,
A current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that has your name and address.

Once a request is received, a ballot is mailed to the voters home (or if indicated an address outside Hamilton Co.) Absentee Ballots must be returned to the BOE by 7:30 pm on Election Day & all information on the envelopes filled out correctly.
